PERAN SARANA PRASARANA DAN TATA RUANG KANTOR TERHADAP IMPLEMENTASI PRINSIP STRUKTUR ORGANISASI PERKANTORAN MODERN
Abstract
This study aims to examine the role of office facilities, infrastructure, and layout in implementing the principles of organizational structure in modern offices. This study is motivated by the gap between organizational charts that have been simplified to support teamwork and digital work patterns, with the physical face of the office and facilities that are often still traditional. Through a narrative literature review approach using articles and research reports for the period 2010–2025 collected from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Portal Garuda with the keywords organizational structure, office facilities, office layout, and modern offices in Indonesia and abroad. The results of the review show that most studies discuss infrastructure and layout as determinants of performance and comfort, whereas discussions of organizational structure tend to be separate from the physical work environment. By rereading the literature review through the principles of specialization, departmentalization, chain of command, span of control, centralization-decentralization, and formalization of procedures, this study found that infrastructure and layout serve as concrete instruments for realizing formal structures in daily practice. The mismatch between structure and the physical environment encourages the emergence of informal “shadow structures.” The research findings conclude that any structural changes in Indonesian offices require a review of infrastructure and spatial planning, and recommend further empirical research on various office layouts.
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji peran sarana, prasarana, dan tata ruang kantor dalam mengimplementasikan prinsip struktur organisasi di perkantoran modern. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesenjangan antara bagan organisasi yang telah disederhanakan untuk mendukung kerja tim dan pola kerja digital, dengan wajah fisik kantor dan fasilitas yang sering masih tradisional. Melalui pendekatan kajian literatur naratif menggunakan artikel dan laporan penelitian periode tahun 2010–2025 yang dihimpun dari Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, dan Portal Garuda dengan kata kunci struktur organisasi, sarana prasarana kantor, tata ruang kantor, serta perkantoran modern di Indonesia dan luar negeri. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar penelitian membahas sarana prasarana dan tata ruang sebagai penentu kinerja dan kenyamanan, sementara pembahasan terkait struktur organisasi cenderung terpisah dari lingkungan kerja fisik. Dengan membaca kembali hasil kajian literatur melalui prinsip spesialisasi, departementalisasi, rantai komando, rentang kendali, sentralisasi-desentralisasi, dan formalisasi prosedur, kajian ini menemukan bahwa sarana prasarana dan tata ruang berfungsi sebagai instrumen konkret untuk mewujudkan struktur formal dalam praktik sehari-hari. Ketidaksesuaian antara struktur dan lingkungan fisik mendorong munculnya “struktur bayangan” informal. Temuan penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa setiap perubahan struktur di perkantoran Indonesia perlu disertai peninjauan ulang sarana prasarana dan tata ruang, serta merekomendasikan penelitian empiris lanjutan pada berbagai bentuk layout kantor.
