IMPLEMENTATION OF CLOUD-BASED ERP TO SUPPORT DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF MSME IN INDONESIA

Abstract


Rapid advances in digital technology have transformed how businesses are managed across sectors, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). A key innovation widely used is cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, which combine various business functions into an integrated platform. Implementing such ERP systems is crucial because they save time, reduce operational costs, improve data accuracy, and enable real-time access to information without the need for large infrastructure, unlike traditional ERP systems. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in supporting digital transformation in Indonesia's MSME sector. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review of academic journals, industry reports, and secondary data published after 2020. The results indicate that cloud-based ERP systems can improve supply chain management efficiency, accelerate decision-making, and strengthen competitiveness in the digital economy era. However, key challenges remain, such as limited capital for MSMEs, low digital capabilities, and concerns about data security and privacy in a cloud environment. Overall, this study concludes that cloud-based ERP has significant potential to strengthen MSMEs' digital transformation in Indonesia, particularly when supported by government policies, enhanced digital capabilities, and collaboration with local ERP providers. Therefore, cloud ERP can be a crucial foundation for driving efficiency, transparency, and business continuity for MSMEs.

Kemajuan pesat dalam teknologi digital telah mengubah cara pengelolaan bisnis di berbagai bidang, termasuk usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah (UMKM). Inovasi utama yang banyak digunakan adalah sistem Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) yang berjalan di cloud, yang menggabungkan berbagai fungsi bisnis ke dalam platform terintegrasi. Penerapan ERP semacam ini sangat penting karena memberikan penghematan waktu, mengurangi biaya operasional, meningkatkan ketepatan data, dan memungkinkan akses informasi real-time tanpa perlu infrastruktur besar seperti pada ERP tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapan sistem Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) berbasis cloud computing berperan strategis dalam mendukung transformasi digital pada sektor UMKM di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui tinjauan literatur dari jurnal akademik, laporan industri, dan data sekunder yang diterbitkan setelah tahun 2020. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem ERP berbasis cloud dapat meningkatkan efisiensi manajemen rantai pasok, mempercepat pengambilan keputusan, dan memperkuat daya saing di era ekonomi digital. Namun, tantangan utama tetap ada, seperti keterbatasan modal UMKM, rendahnya kemampuan digital, serta kekhawatiran soal keamanan dan privasi data di lingkungan cloud. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ERP berbasis cloud memiliki potensi besar untuk memperkuat transformasi digital UMKM di Indonesia, terutama jika didukung oleh kebijakan pemerintah, peningkatan kemampuan digital, dan kerja sama dengan penyedia ERP lokal. Dengan begitu, ERP cloud bisa menjadi dasar penting untuk mendorong efisiensi, transparansi, dan kelangsungan bisnis UMKM.
